Join us for a horror film feast pop up cinema, screening Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, with a one-off opportunity to watch this classic horror in the atmospheric surroundings of Kirkstall Abbey.

Ascendant horror writer Stephen King’s The Shining is one of the iconic classics, this suspense thriller is one of cinematic beauty crafted with isolating horror, directed by Stanley Kubrick. Staring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall.

All work and no play makes the caretaker of an isolated resort go way off the deep end, terrorizing his young son and wife. Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) becomes the winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer’s block. He settles in along with his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and his son, Danny, who is plagued by psychic premonitions. As Jack’s writing goes nowhere and Danny’s visions become more disturbing, Jack discovers the hotel’s dark secrets and begins to unravel into a homicidal maniac hell-bent on terrorizing his family.
